1. Single Purpose & Scope
Tabbee is an extension for Google Chrome designed exclusively to save memory, organize open tabs into collections, and preserve native Chrome tab groups. This policy explains what information the extension accesses, why it is needed, and how it remains strictly on your device.
2. Permissions & Data Access Breakdown
To function in modern Chromium browsers (Manifest V3), Tabbee requests specific permissions. Each permission is tied directly to user-facing utility:
Used strictly when you trigger a stash, save, or restore action. Tabbee reads the current window's tab URLs, page titles, and favicon URLs to construct your collection list. Tabbee never inspects webpage content, form inputs, or keystrokes.
Used to query your Chrome tab group metadata (group title, assigned color, collapsed state). When you restore a stashed session, Tabbee calls the Chrome Tab Groups API to recreate the exact group visual hierarchy.
Used to save your collections, rolling local backups, and extension settings directly in your local Chrome profile storage (chrome.storage.local). Data is not transmitted to any external cloud database.
Allows Tabbee to detect recently closed tabs and provide reliable crash recovery if your browser quits unexpectedly.
Enables keyboard shortcuts (Alt+W to stash window, Alt+Shift+T to open spotlight HUD) configured in your Chrome shortcut settings.
3. Sleeping Tabs & defer.html
When you restore large collections, Tabbee uses a local lightweight page (defer.html) to hold the tab in a zero-RAM sleeping state. The destination URL is stored strictly in the tab URL hash and runs locally on your browser. No server request or network tracking is performed during tab hibernation or wake-up.
4. Zero Analytics & Tracking
Tabbee contains no third-party tracking scripts, no telemetry SDKs (such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Sentry), and no advertising pixels. We do not log when you open the popup, how many tabs you have saved, or which domains you frequent.
5. Data Ownership, Export & Deletion
- Full Export: You can export all your saved sessions, collections, and tab groups into a readable JSON file at any time.
- Instant Deletion: Deleting a tab or collection immediately purges it from your local storage.
- Complete Removal: Uninstalling the Tabbee extension removes all stored tabs and settings permanently from your machine.
6. Chrome Web Store Policy Compliance
Tabbee strictly adheres to the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the User Data FAQ and the Limited Use requirements. Tabbee will never sell user data, use user data for advertising, or transfer data for creditworthiness assessment.
